Product Introduction & Technical Specifications

Product Introduction

Engineered Wood Flooring 15/4 mm combines the natural beauty of solid hardwood with the structural stability of a multi‑layer engineered core. With a total thickness of 15 mm and a generous 4 mm real wood wear layer, this floor delivers the authentic look, feel, and durability of a traditional solid timber floor, while being suitable for a much wider range of installation conditions – including over underfloor heating.

Key benefits at a glance:

  • Authentic wood surface – The 4 mm top layer is genuine European oak (or your chosen species), offering deep grain texture, natural colour variations, and the ability to be sanded and refinished up to 2–3 times during the floor’s lifetime.

  • Superior stability – The multi‑ply cross‑layered core (birch/eucalyptus/poplar) minimises expansion and contraction caused by changes in humidity and temperature. This makes the floor less prone to warping, cupping, or gapping.

  • Underfloor heating compatibility – Excellent thermal conductivity and dimensional stability make it perfectly suited for use with warm‑water underfloor heating systems (maximum surface temperature 27 °C).

  • Long lifespan – A 4 mm wear layer is thicker than most standard engineered floors (typically 0.6–3 mm), giving the floor a life expectancy of 30 years and more, with the option to refresh the surface by sanding when needed.

  • Versatile installation – Suitable for floating, glued‑down, or secret‑nailed installation on concrete, timber subfloors, and screeded bases.

  • Ready‑to‑use finishing – Pre‑finished with a high‑performance UV‑cured lacquer or natural hardwax oil, providing excellent resistance to scratches, stains, and daily wear. No on‑site sanding, staining, or sealing is required.

  • Healthy indoor climate – Low‑VOC, solvent‑free finishes and formaldehyde‑free core construction (E1 or better) contribute to a safe, indoor air quality‑friendly environment.

Typical applications: Living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms, hallways, hotel suites, retail spaces, and high‑end residential projects. The 15/4 format is particularly popular with architects and interior designers who demand a sturdy, authentic wood floor without the limitations of solid timber in high‑moisture areas or over concrete subfloors.

Appearance: Subtle brushing along the grain brings out the natural texture of the wood. Micro‑bevelled edges on all four sides give each plank a distinct, elegant definition while keeping the floor easy to clean.

Description

Engineered Wood Flooring the real wood floor with a difference.

The perfect blend of premium quality, durability and affordability

With a solid 15 mm total thickness and a generous 4 mm real wood wear layer, our state-of-the-art manufacturing plant has produced a stable and reliable core board to support the 2.2 metre long and 220mm wide planks, this engineered floor delivers the authentic character of a traditional solid plank – without the downsides. The thick top layer unveils rich grain, natural knots, and subtle colour variations, while the stable multi‑ply birch core keeps the boards flat and dimensionally stable, even where solid wood would struggle.

Perfect for modern living: compatible with underfloor heating, ideal for open‑plan layouts, and suitable for floating, glued‑down, or nailed installation. The 4 mm wear layer can be professionally sanded and refinished up to 2–3 times, giving your floor a lifespan of 30 years and more.

Pre‑finished with a tough UV‑cured matt lacquer or natural hardwax oil, the surface is ready to walk on straight after installation – no sanding, no dust, no waiting. From cosy bedrooms to busy hallways and high‑end residential projects, 15/4 mm engineered wood floors bring warmth, resilience, and lasting value.
